Camp Summary “Youth of Character” 2015

Youth Camp 2015 at Voroneti in Suceava, RO “Tinerii de Caracter”

Together with the Baptist Church in Piatra Neamt and My Brother’s Keeper Intl, we were able to take 64 youth participants and 18 leaders for a week of camp.  The youth were 15 and older, and we had focused lessons on sincerity, discernment, forgiveness, order, & decision-making.  Camp turned out well, it was action-packed and full of good teachings.  For each of the lessons we heard about in evenings, we also had morning discussion time to talk about them in our groups.  By the end of the week, we had at least 10 people made public statements that they want to follow the Lord Jesus. Since the closing of camp, we have made an effort to continue to meet with these youth we met, especially new.  We have been getting together for youth group at the Baptist Church on Friday nights, and Tuesday nights getting together to play volleyball and football in town.  Pray the Lord will continue to work in their hearts , and for us leaders as we strive in the fall to meet with them for devotions before school.  Thanks!!

Camp breakdowns :  We took 8 youth from Elena Doamna Center, 11 from the Ion Creanga Center (another orphanage in town with just as many children but we haven’t done as much with them) , 6 from Casa Ray Orphanage ,  6 from the village of Garcina, 7 from other villages, and 26 from church.  The Lord bless them ALL. We are Lucian and Becca Avadanei, a young couple bent on orphan ministry. We met while both of us were involved in ministry to Romanian children, and decided to team up in our efforts to help orphans and abandoned children discover who they are. Now, we are serving together in Children and Youth Outreach in Romania under the organization My Brother’s Keeper Ministries. Follow us on our blog and learn how you can pray for the children.
