Children’s Day 2017 in Garcina!

International Children’s Day in the village of Garcina went well!  This event happened on June 2 in the courtyard of the village church, after we had had an event June 1 at the Elena Doamna Orphanage. We had 42 children (a good number of those we’ve never seen before!), 75 people in all including parents, helpers, and church members.  We stayed 5 hours playing volleyball, water games, giving out shirts, and having a meal together. The message our pastor had was about how to build a good foundation in their youth, so they’ll grow up well- avoiding sin’s temptation.  He had an illustration with a bee- a small boy caught a bee with a knife.  The bee bit him on the hand, and then the stinger stung him… Kind of like sin- it bites and stings when we don’t expect it!  The kids listened well!  Praise God we were able to share the gospel!

We had so much fun in Garcina for Children’s Day ! Recently we had a fundraiser to help demolish an old building on the church’s land – and now see how well the space is used! 🙂  Praise God !!

We met while both of us were involved in ministry to Romanian children, and decided to team up in our efforts to help orphans and abandoned children discover who they are. Now, we are serving together in Children and Youth Outreach in Romania under the organization My Brother’s Keeper Ministries. Follow us on our blog and learn how you can pray for the children.
