Preparations for Youth Camp 2018!!

Our theme has been decided, our speaker has been chosen, and 12 of the 20 leaders met recently for a Leaders Retreat to discuss sub-themes for what we’re going to talk about at camp this summer August 27- September 1, 2018 (School always starts mid-September here) ! ⛺️☀️🌾 🎾

The theme will be “Discovering God’s Will” using verse Psalm 119: 105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” and our speaker is Paul Baxendale, a pastor from England who has had connections in Romania and with our church in Piatra Neamt for the past five years. Paul will lead the messages in the evenings, and with the help of a translator be around to answer questions the youth have.

We are still looking for 51 sponsorships for teens to come to our camp this year! We are only having one camp this year, as opposed past two years of having one for youth and one for children, and focusing on investing in the youth.  For children in our area, we will do a VBS in July. You may send your $120 donation for camp to My Brother’s Keeper, PO Box 11, Roxbury PA 17251, and be sure to write “Avadanei camp 2018” on the memo line. Thank you for making a difference in a teen’s life this summer! ☺️ ⛺️

A Need Arose

We have been made aware of a need that an orphan teen that we know has. She is a student at a University in Bucharest and is in need of $250 to pay a tax for school. She has almost finished her first year.

Anyone able to help out I invite them to give to our PayPal account here. Thank you 😊

Ioana C. had come to our programs when she was younger, when we held them at the Elena Doamna State Orphanage. She is enthusiastic and a friendly girl, interested in her education to help her for her future. Thank you! 😊

Pastor Frank Gribble’s legacy in Romania

Sadly, we have learned that brother Frank Gribble has passed away a few weeks ago.  He was our speaker at youth camp last year, and had enjoyed many years of mission in Romania together with our church in Piatra Neamt. We enjoyed his wit, his stories, and his devotion to the youth, and he will surely be missed!

Please keep his family, his wife and two sons, and his church family in your prayers ! Thank you! 🙏

Our Routine~ Spring 2018

May 5, 2018
We’ve been back in Romania now from our furlough a month and a half. We’re back into our ministry and family routine, and one new thing this spring is that Emily has started preschool! Another news is that Rebecca is expecting,(5 months) so we want Emily to be occupied when mommy is with the baby in the fall. 🙂 Luci is continuing with nursing school (2nd year) and youth group & mentoring some teens, and I am giving English lessons 3 times a week. We are also still doing our Awana program in the village of Garcina on Saturday, and now that we’ve been back we are making up for lost time! The kids there felt our absence for four months, and now we’re trying to repair. We’ve taken them to the park and played volleyball & had pizza, and we are pouring into new songs and reviewing material they have learned with us. A typical week for us:
Monday- 8am-3pm Luci clinicals, 8am-12pm Emily preschool, Rebecca home.
Tuesday: 8am-3pm Luci clinicals, 8am-12pm Emily preschool, 3-6pm Rebecca English at Casa Ray.
Wednesday: 8am-3pm Luci clinicals, 8am-12pm Emily preschool, 6-8pm prayer group.
Thursday: 8am-3pm Luci clinicals, 8am-12pm Emily preschool, 3-6pm Rebecca English at Casa Ray.
Friday: 8am-3pm Luci clinicals, 8am-12pm Emily preschool, 2-3pm Rebecca English lesson home.
Saturday: 2-4pm L,R,&E at Garcina kids program, 6-9pm Luci youth group.
Sunday- 10-12 church, 6-8 pm church.
Also on some days, Luci meets with a group of young people for breakfast & prayer before school, 6:30-8am.
We hope the Lord is guiding you & your families as well in things that please Him.  Remember Daniel 1: 8-16 where it says how Daniel chose how to stay pure. “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.”  Keep in your prayers our camp in August for young people, the theme is going to be “How to Discover the Will of God”, and a VBS in July for village&city kids in our area. We have a few people coming from the States to help with those. Blessings!
