We love being able to take children and youth from our town and surrounding area to camp in the summer!! It’s a great way to jump start them in their faith and relationship to God and others. This year we are having a Youth Camp August 26- 31, 2019 in the beautiful mountains of Voronet, Romania, theme is yet to be decided. We hope to be able to take 65 participants along with 20 leaders from our home church, Biserica Baptista Piatra Neamt. The fundraising for the entire week is supported by us through My Brother’s Keeper, as our church doesn’t have enough funds to be able to offer scholarships. Each year, there are a number of teens from Casa Ray Orphanage, from villages in our area, and from another orphanage in Piatra Neamt, Santa Maria, to whom we offer scholarships to so they can come and enjoy with us!

We’ve been doing our kids clubs weekly since January after Christmas break ended, in the village of Gârcina Fridays and the State Orphanage Ion Creanga Saturdays.

In the village we are learning from a Youth Alpha course, and the kids like the videos. It’s on the basics of Christianity. They have been answering the questions and we have a discussion afterwards. Last Friday’s lesson was on getting lost, and was helpful to have a discussion on that. In the orphanage we are using ”The Greatest Journey” workbooks by the Samaritan’s Purse and we have 15-20 kids who come regularly. The study is on the basics of Christianity and also has some lessons on Zaccheus, Goliath, and the apostles.

Please be praying for Cristina, a girl from youth group who has been helping us in these kids clubs. She has a great servant’s heart. Pray she comes to a saving knowledge of the human state and God’s grace, and Jesus’ sacrifice for us.

In the year 2010, there were: 62,000 orphans/abandoned children.

While numbers are going down, there is still a large group, with a high concentration in institutional orphanages in the Eastern part of the country. To effectively serve this marginalized group, there is a need for compassionate individuals to be willing to do life with them: support during the school year, providing extracurricular activities, and offering possibilities for them to grow.

Country's Induction in the EU: 1 Jan, 2007.
Conditions of orphanages have greatly improved with the country’s induction in the European Union, and grants have been given to certain orphanages and infrastructure to make renovations.
